Kenzie was born with hip dysplasia in both hips. We thought she had out grown all her hip problems until November 2016 when she started complaining of hip pain. We took her to the doctor and they diagnosed her with a torn labrum in her left hip. She had surgery December 2016 to repair the labrum. She was on the up hill of recovery until she started to feel the same pain in February. We made her a doctor appointment with her primary doctor and he referred her to the Shiners Hospital in St. Louis. We got accepted into the Shriners and had her first appointment in March and the doctor wanted to try a cortisone injection. We did the injection and got no relief from the injection. We went back to the Shriners in May for a MRI-Arthrogram and CT scan of her hips. The test showed she had another torn labrum in the left hip an after the doctor examined her he discovered that her left leg/hip had femoral anterversion which is where her hips point forward at 35 degrees and the normal hips are 5-15 degrees which is putting a lot of pressure on her hips. The doctor is going to repair her labrum and take the stress off her hips by preforming a femur osteotomy which is cutting the bone and turning it over a rod in her femur to take the pressure off her hips and give her a 20 degree change on how her hips are positioned. He will secure the rod with screws to hold it in place. Kenzie's total recovery time is 4-6 months with one month of basically doing nothing but laying low. She will be in a wheel chair and allowed to walk with crutches after 6 weeks. Kenzie will be homeschooled this year due to the surgery We will be in St Louis for 3 weeks until her follow up appointment. I am not able to work due to Kenzie's condition. The money we get will be for lodging, travel expenses, and meals Original article and pictures take https://www.gofundme.com/g8edqr-kenzies-medical-fund site
